First Rock Leads

A small crew of CYCC climbers visited the Ballykeeffe Amphitheater to get on rock on Sunday 8th of July. The rain kind of stayed away and it allowed two CYCC Senior Leads to get their first rock leads done.

Ellen lead a cool 6a as first rock route...

While Conor cruised up a 6b (with Dylan nearby racing him to the top!)...

The slightly damp conditions could not keep our climbers on the ground. Yasmin ties in again...

Ellen, Dylan and Yasmin finished their day doing a few 20M+ routes which could only be classed by CYCC's own in-house grading system - the Rich Grade. The Rich Grade only has two known classifications at the moment; the 'You Can Get Some Gear Into That' grade and 'Hard'. The 20M routes fell into the latter category and the kids loved it!

Well done to Ellen and Conor on getting their first leads in!
